Development projects in Mullaitivu

Various development projects are being undertaken in Mullaitivu to restore the civil administration in the district, Northern Province Governor G.A. Chandrasiri said. He said the Local Government administration structures which were destroyed are being reconstructed at a cost of Rs. 500 million.

According to Mullaitivu District Regional Local Government Commissioner K. Uthayaraja, 115 local roads in the district are to be renovated at a cost of Rs. 393 million.

He said the Pradeshiya Sabha buildings in the district will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 71 million while Rs. 36 million will be spent on other construction activities.

The Northern Provincial Council is carrying out these development projects in the Mullaitivu district. Buildings for the Puthukudiyiruppu, Thunukkai, Karaithuraipatru and Pandiyankulam Pradeshiya Sabhas and the Sub Pradeshiya Sabhas of Semmalai and Kokkilai areas will be constructed.
