I am very much impressed with the progress of work at Sri Lanka
Cricket's Pallekelle Cricket Stadium and wanted all work to be completed
my mid January next year said the Minister of Sports Mahindananda
Aluthgamage.
He made these observations when he visited the Pallekelle Stadium on
an inspection tour yesterday. Sports Minister Aluthgamage paid a glowing
tribute to the officials headed by SLC Chairman D. S. de Silva, World
Cup Committee Director Suraj Dandeniya, National Curator Anuruddha
Polonowita and the man at the base, the Operations Manager at the
Stadium for handling this work in an excellent manner.
He also instructed that the areas which are under construction should
be sealed off from the spectators during the Third Cricket Test Match
between Sri Lanka and West Indies which is due to commence on December
1.
