Ravi Punchihewa C.A. play Barath C.A. in Chennai Dec. 20 to 23

CRICKET: Ravi Punchihewa Cricket Academy, Matale under 15 will leave
for Chennai, India this weekend to participate in the limited-over
cricket tournament organised by Barath Cricket Academy, Chennai from
December 20th to 23rd in Chennai.
Ravi Punchihewa Cricket Academy made five previous visits to India
and won the Inter-Academy Cricket Championship on all five occasions
held at various venues.
Ravi Punchihewa Cricket Academy is the biggest cricket academy in the
Central Province, having on its roll over 175 young cricketers in the
age groups between 10 to 19 years and the skills of these cricketers are
got together so that they do well for their respective schools.
The Director of the Academy Ravi Punchihewa who is now a Sri Lanka
Cricket match referee said that the exposure gained in foreign climes
against cricketers of good skills should help the young cricketers.
The under 15 team will be led by Royal English School allrounder
Althaff Kamerdeen who is a stylish opening bat and good right-arm off
spinner. His deputy is another allrounder Shamin Ali who is a left hand
bat and an off spinner.
The allrounders in the side are: Dilka Rajendra, K. Pradeepan, M.
Ghulam Azeem and B. Divakar. S. Krishanth is the 'stumper' of the side.
The quickies in the side are: B. Divakar, R. K. Ekanayake, and
Lakshaman Chamara.
The spinners in the side are:U. Nilakshana, Shaheen Ali, Althaf
Kamerdeen and Dilka Rajendra.
The batting line up is strong with Althaff Kamerdeen, Shahin Ali,
Dilka Rajendra, B. Divakar, Ghulam Azeem, S. Krishanth, K. Pradeepan.
