‘Ocean Babies’ concert

The annual concerts of the Ocean Babies Montessori at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara and Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee were held recently. First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa graced both occasions as the Chief Guest.

First Lady, who was accompanied by President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Malathie Samarasinghe and Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe was warmly welcomed by the students of the Ocean Babies Montessori on her arrival at the venue.

Chief of Staff of the Navy, Commander Western Naval Area, Commander Eastern Naval Area, Supervising Officer of the Ocean Babies Montessori Mrs. Vajira Dharmasiriwardene and senior Naval officers and Navy Seva Vanitha Unit members were also present on the occasion.

The Ocean Babies Montessori run by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit are located at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara and Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee for the benefit of the children of naval personnel.

The Montessori provides education both in Sinhala and English mediums to children who are aged between 3 and 5. A Day Care Centre also functions attached to the Montessori providing care to the young children.
