The President unveils the card |
President Mahinda Rajapaksa unveiled the world's largest greeting
card, put up in front of Temple Trees recently. The card measuring
92.10ft X 36.6 ft has entered the Guinness Book of World Records, as the
world's largest greeting card beating the previous record held by
Ireland where a charity group of Dublin University, card measuring 60X20
ft.
Dr. Githanjana Mendis (Sports Medicine Unit Head and Head of the Open
International University for Integrated Medicine) and the artist, Saman
Prasad Hettiarachchi, who drew the card to mark the President assuming
leadership for the second term.
Ven. Pitigala Jinasiri Thera, Chief Incumbent of Kotte Rajamaha
Viharaya is also in the picture.
