Nawalakanda Super sets low grown record
Nawalakanada Super Tea Factory established an all time record price
for the FBOP1 grade at Rs.4210/- recently.
The tea auction was conducted by Ms. Anushka Mohotti of John Keells
PLC. The previous record price established in October for this grade was
Rs.4010/-.
The estate which is owned by Anura Peiris has been Sri Lanka's third
largest single tea producing factory for the past one and a half decades
and is renowned for producing teas with unique characteristics. I
t is situated in the village of Nawalakanda which is 200 meters above
sea level and 15km off the Pelmadulla-Embilitiya main road.
