to international market.

"Amirdeens' get-together"
The first Amirdeens' get-together which took place
at the Moor's Sports Grounds, on January 23 was a tremendous success
having nearly four hundred and fifty relatives gracing this
occasion. The Amirdeens are originally from Kandy, where Marhoom
Mohamed Ismail Amirdeen and Marhooma Seyed Umma Amirdeen had twelve
children which resulted in the extensive family they have today.
The event also offered fun activities and
entertainment for all ages to make it an entertaining and joyous
event. Although it was a Sunday everyone chose to forgo their busy
routines ensuring that all family members wholeheartedly
participated in the occasion and left with mesmerizing
recollections. This event was organised within three months with the
encouragement received from initiators, generous donors, sponsors,
volunteers and family members, not forgetting the organising
committee who worked tirelessly day and night to put this event
together. Due to the positive encouragement received, the organising
committee plans to make this an annual event Insha Allah, and hopes
and prays that this get-together will strengthen the family bonds,
