We do politics in our country, but opposition do it overseas

We fought in our country to set up a government, through clarion calls, such as Pada Yathra, Janagosa and human chains on behalf of our motherland but today, the Opposition is adopting a peculiar course of action in foreign countries, to set up a government by surrendering the country, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa, addressing a rally of UPFA supporters in Matara yesterday.

We worked hard to extricate the masses suffered under difficulties at the time. Our command post was none other than our country. Today the method pursued by the Opposition is diametrically the opposite.

They invent non-existent troubles and try to create havoc, the President added.

A country needs a strong opposition it's main obligation should have been to raise a voice to win the rights of the public, he added, reminding how he fought for human rights of Sri Lankans, when he was on foreign lands.

He also said that the entire intelligentsia of the country has realised the unscrupulous programs of the Opposition and therefore had them rejected today.President appealed to the masses to rally round the UPFA and join with it, hand it hand to develop the country.
