CMC opens another Ayurvedic dispensary

The 20th indigenous medicine dispensary of the Colombo Municipal Council will come into operation from March 14 with the opening of the Keselwatta Ayurvedic dispensary constructed at a cost of Rs. 10 million, CMC Special Commissioner Omar Kamil said.

He said the opening of the new dispensary is due to the huge demand from the public for indigenous medicine.

The Keselwatta Ayurvedic dispensary will be opened by Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha.

Kamil said the Ayurvedic Department of the CMC is following ancient methods for manufacturing Ayurvedic drugs and all the Ayurvedic dispensaries scattered around the city is fed by the Ayurvedic drugs and ointments produced at the Ayurvedic drug manufacturing centre at Dematagoda.

"The opening of the Ayurvedic Dispensary at Keselwatta will also help the Colombo citizen to have Ayurvedic treatment freely," he added. (RW)
