CMC opens another Ayurvedic dispensary
The 20th indigenous medicine dispensary of the Colombo Municipal
Council will come into operation from March 14 with the opening of the
Keselwatta Ayurvedic dispensary constructed at a cost of Rs. 10 million,
CMC Special Commissioner Omar Kamil said.
He said the opening of the new dispensary is due to the huge demand
from the public for indigenous medicine.
The Keselwatta Ayurvedic dispensary will be opened by Petroleum
Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha.
Kamil said the Ayurvedic Department of the CMC is following ancient
methods for manufacturing Ayurvedic drugs and all the Ayurvedic
dispensaries scattered around the city is fed by the Ayurvedic drugs and
ointments produced at the Ayurvedic drug manufacturing centre at
Dematagoda.
"The opening of the Ayurvedic Dispensary at Keselwatta will also help
the Colombo citizen to have Ayurvedic treatment freely," he added. (RW)
