Antonians down Rajans 29-3

St. Anthony's College, Kandy came up with a good performance to defeat Dharmaraja College by 29 points (3 goals, 1 try, 1 penalty) to 3 (1 penalty) in their schools under-19 'A' Division rugby tournament Match played at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy yesterday. At half time the Antonians led 8-3.

After a fairly evenly contested first half the Antonians produced a fiery brand of rugby in the second half to add 21 more points to their tally whilst conceding none. Towards the dying stages Rajans Winger Indika Hewawasam was shown the 'red card' by referee Irshard Cader for unwarranted play in a game which saw hard and clean rugby.

The Antonians scored their tries through look forward Sajeed Lahir (2), Scrum half Dinesh Tharanga (2), hooker Mohamed Ali (1) stand off Chamara Kumara added the extra points to 3 of the tries and also converted a penalty. For the Rajans Winger Tilina Wijesinghe put over the penalty.
