Janadhipathi BV u-15 Inter-Schools Hockey Champs
HOCKEY: Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Sri Jayawardanapura beat
Musaeus College by 2 goals to 1 to emerge champions at the recently
concluded All-Island under 15 Inter-School Hockey Championship conducted
by the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Association. The goals for the winners
were scored by Imesha Lakshani and Yasitha Prabani.
However, it was Musaeus College that scored the first goal in the
15th minute, but Janadhipathi B.V. scored in the 19th minute to equalise
and then in the second half got the winning goal. In the preliminary
rounds Janadhipathi B.V. beat Sri Sumangala, Panadura 3-nil, beat Jaffna
College 8-nil and they also beat Girls High School, Kandy 2-nil. In the
quarter-finals Janadhipathi M.V. beat Pushpadana College, Kandy 4 goals
to nil and in the semi-finals they beat last year's champions Seethadevi
B.V. by 2 goals to nil.
