Clarification
Reference the article published in the Sunday Observer on January 30,
titled 'Hardy's pristine glory to be restored', we have erroneously
referred to Prof. A.N.S. Kulasinghe as Director of Hardy Technical
Training Institute (Hardy TTI) from 1961.
It is not Prof. Kulasinghe but P.D.W. Kularatne who was appointed
Director of Hardy TTI in 1961.
Under Kularatne's directorship Engineering Diplomas of the Hardy TTI
got government recognition for employment everywhere. The role played by
Kularatne for the growth and recognition of the institute is
immeasurable.
We regret the error and thank Engineer, former student of the HTTI
and member Hardy Alumni Association Asai Thiagarajah for bringing it to
our notice.
