The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) laid the
foundation recently for a modern, state-of-the-art multi-storied
building to provide facilities to its expanding student base and members
with Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade Johnston Fernando as
Chief Guest and Namal Rajapaksa, MP as Guest of Honour.
Joining them in laying foundation stones were ICASL President Sujeewa
Mudalige, Vice President Sujeewa Rajapakse and Chief Executive Officer
Aruna Alwis.
ICASL also gave pride of place to its past presidents, by inviting
them to lay a foundation stone each.
The proposed building will cover a area of 40,000 sq ft with a ground
floor plus six floors and a roof terrace to accommodate a greater level
of activities to increase revenue from the Institute's core functional
areas and other strategic business units under its wing.
