Showcasing power generating technology

The 5th Power Sri Lanka, 2011, Sri Lanka's international exhibition on power generation and transmission, PV power, energy and renewable energy will be held from June 16-18, at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre (SLECC).

The exhibition will run parallel to the International Exhibition on renewable energy Solutions & Technology (RE Power 2011), International Exhibition on Solar Photo Voltaic Power Generation (PV Power 2011) and International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment & Technology (E Power 2011).

The exhibition is organised by the Conference & Exhibition Management Services Ltd, Global - USA and CEMS Lanka together with the Ministry of Power and Energy, Ceylon Electricity Board and Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.

This is the second power exhibition to be held in Sri Lanka and the fifth in the series. The first was held last year.

Ten countries including Denmark, Norway, China, Korea, Australia, Singapore, Germany and India will participate in the exhibition which will bring together all stakeholders in the power and energy industry under one B2B platform.

The expo will bring world-class technology which would be beneficial to upgrade the power and energy sector and also play an important role by assembling the entire business community from all industry sectors of the country under one roof creating networking opportunities.

"The government wants to seek new technology with emphasis on tapping alternative energy sources for power generation.

It is anticipating a dynamic growth in the power sector," said Additional Secretary Ministry of Power and energy, Tissa Herath.
