Book launch: Dutugemunu ha Saddhatissa

Prof. Malinga Amarasinghe's Dutugemunu ha Saddhatissa, Vijithapura Satana and Swarnamali will be launched at Dayawansa Jayakody Bookshop, Colombo 10 on June 14 at 10 a.m.

Prof. Amarasinghe is the author of several other books including Perani Lakdiva Vasthrabharana, Sigiriya - Loka Urumayaka Vagathuga, Polonnaruva Natabun, Lankave Purana Rajamaliga, Siduhath Kumaraya and Sithul Pavva. All the three books are Dayawansa Jayakody publications.

Senior Minister turns 90

Senior Minister M.H Mohammed will be 90 years on June 15. He was born on June 15, 1921.

He entered national politics by contesting the Borella electorate in 1965. Thereafter he was returned to the Parliament many times and held several ministerial portfolios, such as Minister of Labour, Muslim Cultural Affairs, Transport and Urban Development. Later he became the Speaker of the Parliament. A felicitation volume has been launched in this connection .

Exhibition of paintings

An exhibition of paintings by Susil Senanayake will be held from June 17 - 19 at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery, Colombo 07.
