Isipathana down Petes 35-22

RUGBY: Isipatana College continued with their impressive record this season when they defeated the reigning champions St. Peter's College 35-22 in a key Singer inter school Under 20 Division One League rugby tournament match worked off at Bambalapitiya yesterday.

Isipatana who snatched a close 11-10 lead at half time produced a power packed display in the second half to seal the game while collecting their points from two goals, three tries and two penalties.

The Peterites failed to capitalize on their home advantage and managed to score only one goal and three unconverted tries as they bowed out of the competition having crashed to their second defeat in the tournament.

Second half rally help Wesley win

Wesley College produced a splendid second half rally to beat Thurstan College 22-20 in an exciting Singer inter school Under 20 Division One League rugby tournament match worked off at Havelock Park yesterday.

After the scores were ten all at half time Wesley College came back strongly to turn the game in their favour while collecting their points from one goal and three unconverted tries.

Thurstan College of course kept their hopes alive of pulling off the game until the final whistle as they ended up with one goal, two tries and one penalty.
