CBL wins four brand excellence awards at CMO Awards

Ceylon Biscuits Ltd stamped their global footprint when they were
crowned with a host of international awards at the recently concluded
CMO awards at the Suntec City exhibition centre, Singapore.

Competing with global brands such as Coke, Nestle and Proctor and
Gamble from 40 countries, the Sri Lankan confectionery giant won four
brand excellence awards in the beverages dairy products and
confectionery snacks category clearly underlining their supremacy.
These awards were presented for Munchee Biscuits, Ritzbury
chocolates, Tiara cakes and for Lanka Soy for their soya based products.
The fact that these awards were presented after a careful study
conducted by the team from US based organisations in Sri Lanka adds
value the awards received by Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. In addition these were
the only four awards presented to Sri Lanka in this category.
The other prestigious award was for Best Employer Brand in Asia which
was based on comments made by customers in Sri Lanka.
"It's a rare occasion and an honour for a Sri Lankan company to bag
these awards from over 40 countries representing the Asia Pacific and
the Middle East region," said Group Director and Head of Sales and
Marketing, of Ceylon Biscuits, Nandana Wickramage.
In addition the company also won best CSR Best Practitioner award.
The foremost CSR initiative of Munchee, the flagship brand of Ceylon
Biscuits Limited has reached-out to four more remote villages under its
'Munchee Samaga Gamata Sarana' Sri Lanka's program.
The four villages that benefited under this program are Katuwana in
Hambantota, Yayapara in Eheliyagoda, Kumbuka in Horana and Diyagaha in
Matara.
Under the 'Munchee Tikiri Shishyadara' program is specifically geared
towards preventing school dropouts and is the largest education support
program conducted by a private company in the country, aimed at
supporting deserving children from less privileged families.
