PEO TV - offers unique features

Sri Lanka Telecom's (SLT) PEO TV has revolutionised the way of watching television and created a great impact in the minds of the local community by offering unique and exciting features such as Rewind TV, Time Shift TV, Video on Demand, and PEO APPS. Video on Demand is one of the key features of SLT PEO TV that helps customers to watch movies, dramas, tele-series and documentaries at a time convenient to them by selecting and ordering videos through television. The local content on VOD is in great demand due to reasonable pricing and convenient access.

SLT PEO TV recently hosted a special event for directors, producers and key personalities in the local film industry, to create an awareness on the possibilities of the IPTV platform whilst extending an open invitation to local content owners.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of SLT Greg Young, said that, "Sri Lanka Telecom is recognised by all communities for its greater socially responsible tasks and we believe that the Video on Demand service, will deliver superior value to the local film industry, not only to take your creations productions to the next level, but also to generate some revenue opportunities as well."

Speaking on behalf of SLT PEO TV, Chief Executive Officer of SLT PEO TV Malraj Balapitiya said, "It is with great pleasure I would say, that SLT PEO TV is now ready to begin a new chapter in the history of entertainment industry, by introducing the best way to watch local movies, through Video on Demand feature on the IPTV platform. Undoubtedly this will create an amazing opportunity for Sri Lankan content owners to showcase their masterpieces to an extended audience via television."

PEO TV currently has an active subscriber base of over 40,000 around the island. SLT's intention is to improve the network with the "I Sri Lanka" project which has already taken off the ground.
