The partially embossed-cement based art form popularly known as ‘Mural Art’ is now an art form in demand. K.D. Tilakaratna 45 of Bodhimaluwa five kilometres off Eheliyagoda town has mastered this art form to a great extent.According to him the secret behind his success towards this art is that he possesses a very keen ‘know-how’ that applies to the nature of the figures suitable for different locations.

The raw-materials needed are cement, asbesto-sheets, sand and paint etc. Tilakaratna is an artist who chooses very soft colours for his creations that attract a varied audience.Text and pix:
