Maliyadeva win Dharmaraja anniversary tourney

FOOTBALL: Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala emerged champions at the seven-a-side football tournament held in connection with Dharmaraja College 125th anniversary celebrations.

There were 32 schools that participated and Maliyadeva College beat Ananda College in the final by 1 goal to nil. In the earlier rounds, Maliyadeva beat Zahira 2-1 in the first round, beat St. Sylvester's and beat St. Mary's Chilaw and in the semi-finals, Maliyadeva beat Joseph Vaz, Wennappuwa by 2 goals to 1 in the semi-finals.
