Trinity notch up second outright win

Trinity College, Kandy scored their second outright for the week when
they beat Kingswood College by an innings and 24 runs in their
inter-school cricket match concluded at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy
yesterday. The Lions won in the final over before tea break.
The Kignswoodians continuing from their over night score of 87 for 7
in reply to Trinity total of 250 for 6 declared fold up for 91 before
the lunch break. Kingswood College who were 75 for 3 at one stage added
only 16 runs while losing 7 wickets. Left-arm spinner Lakshan Jayasinghe
was the chief wrecker taking 5 for 8 off 14.1 over with 8 of them being
maidens.
Following on 159 runs behind, Kignswoodians fared much better scoring
135 before being dismissed, but they occupied the crease for 66 overs,
thus delaying the Lions victory until tea time. T.N. Hettiarachchi tops
cored with 32. Leg-spinner Akila Jayasundera boweld best to capture 3
for 22.
This Trinity's second victory for the week as they on Wednesday they
beat St. Alooysius College also by an innings.
