The launch of The Fear of Gambling, Vihanga Perera's third work of
longer fiction, will be held at the International Centre for Ethnic
Studies (ICES), Kandy on November 18 at 4.00 pm.
It will be complemented with a series of readings from the text and a
subsequent discussion.
Among the speakers for the evening are Dhanuka Bandara – dramatist
and poetry writer –, Ramachandra the political columnist / blogger and
Vihanga Perera.
A second reading will be held at the Colombo ICES on November 25 at
4.30 p.m.
Three documentaries
Three documentaries in English will be screened on November 18 at
5.00.pm. at the Indian Cultural Centre , Gregory's Road, Colombo 7
Lecture
Ambassador Shyam Saran, Former Foreign Secretary of India and
Chairman, Research and Information System for Developing Countries will
deliver a lecture entitled ‘India and Sri Lanka and the Asian
Resurgence” on November 17 at the Bandaranaike Centre for International
Studies Auditorium, BMICH, Colombo 7.
Balloth Ekka Be

Ravindra Ariyaratne’s Balloth Ekka Be will be staged at the Tower
Hall, Colombo 10 today at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. The cast includes
Wijaya Nandasiri, Roshan Pilapitiya, Gihan Fernando, Kumara Thirimadura,
Saman Hemarathna and Anusha Dissanayake.
