President congratulates Gold Coast and Australia

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday congratulated Gold Coast and Australia for winning the Commonwealth Games 2018 bid.

He expressed confidence that the Sri Lankan athletes would show their skills and bring honour to the Motherland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. He said Sri Lanka submitted a confident bid for Hambantota and thanked all those who made tireless efforts for the bid, including companies and individuals from the private sector.
