Softball cricket festival by Old Thomians on Nov. 19

CRICKET: The annual Softball cricket sixes organised by the Old Boys of S. Thomas' Mount Lavinia class of 1990, will be played on Saturday November 19 at the MCA grounds. This year, the tournament will be conducted with a difference as the games will be played on a day-night basis with play scheduled to start at 11 a.m.

This sixes tournament has become a much looked forward to event and in the past three competitions there has been a sell-out of 32 old boys teams from class groups ranging from 1970s to 2008 which included Thomians from Mount Lavinia, Prep School, Kollupitiya, Gurutalawa and even Bandarawela.

The proceeds from the three editions of the cricket sixes were utilized towards completing the renovation of the College Pavilion and Tuck Shop, the original buildings were built in 1958 in memory of the First Prime Minister of Sri Lanka - D.S. Senanayake and opened by his son Dudley Senanayake - the second Prime Minister. Here's a call to all Thomians to make it a must on Saturday, November 19 for a real festival of cricket at the MCA grounds from 11 a.m. onwards.
