Ports Authority Tier 'B' one-day champs
CRICKET: Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) won the Tier 'B' one-day
cricket series organised by Sri Lanka Cricket. Sri Lanka Ports Authority
achieved this victory beating Sri Lanka Navy by 3 wickets/ It was the
first over victory for Sri Lanka Ports Authority in an inter-club
premier series.
Sports at SLPA got the push forward with the initiative of Dr.
Priyath B. Wickrama - Chairman of the SLPA and the higher management and
things turned out well.
Though the SLPA had not been able to take part in first class
cricket, Suraj Randiv who represents the Sri Lanka team serves as an
executive officer at SLPA. There was also Ashan Priyanjana who captained
the under 19 Sri Lanka team and several other players also represented
Sri Lanka 'A' team are employed at SLPA. Shantha Kalavitigoda who
captained the SLPA team played for Sri Lanka Test team. Dinusha Fernando
- another member of the SLPA has also represented Sri Lanka.
