Better service for taxi users

The public should obtain the services of metered taxis to get a better service and reasonable fares, Association of Sri Lanka Meter Taxi Services (ASLMTS) Secretary K.P. Lal Kalinga said.

He said 28 metered taxi companies came under one umbrella organisation (ASLMTS) to provide a better service to commuters. The organisation will ensure that three-wheeler and cab drivers enjoy more benefits, he said.

He said three-wheelers of this organisation could be easily identified because they clearly display the taxi fare of Rs.32 per kilometre. The fare for a kilometre was increased only by Rs.2 and the taxi car fare by Rs.5 due to the fuel price hike.

ASLMTS member and managing director Sonit Cab Ltd, M.M.J. Bandara said that ASLMTS is keen on passenger welfare.
