Ravi Dias - Actg CEO ComBank

Commercial Bank PLC appointed Ravi Dias as Acting Chief Executive Officer with effect from February 27, 2012. The long standing Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC , Amitha Gooneratne is due to retire at the end of April this year and is on leave, prior to retirement, commencing February 27, 2012.

His deputy, Ravi Dias took over and would function as the Acting Chief Executive Officer in the interim. Dias counts over 30 years experience in banking and had been in Corporate Management of the Bank since 1995 and was admitted to the Board of Directors of the Bank in December 2010.

He holds a degree in Law and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers London. Dias is also a Hubert.H.Humphrey Fellow, and obtained useful exposure during his Humphrey year including a stint at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston.
