Bhagavad Geetha rejuvenates man's mind

"The eternal values of life which constitute the theme of Bhagavad
Geetha influences an individual's heart even though in some cases it may
take relatively a longer time.
There is an incredible source of power waiting to surface in everyone
of us", said Sunanda Leelaram delivering a lecture on Bhagavad Geetha,
in Colombo recently. She is the daughter and disciple of Swami
Parthasarathy who is widely acclaimed as the greatest living exponent of
Vedanta, the ancient philosophy of India.Despite this enormous and
awesome force, is still plagued by endless problems. The solutions to
all these lie in the integrated development of individual personality
and spiritual attainment.
Intellect
To direct this power in the right way we must strive for intellectual
enhancement, evaluate confusing situations and arrive at constructive
conclusions. The Bhagavad Geetha instructs man how to train the mind,
and intellect to analyse, evaluate and decisively act even in the web of
complexities.
Sunandaji explained that no one considers living as a technique that
needs to be learnt and practised. However, as opposed to other
creatures, a human being does need knowledge of life and living than
other creatures that lead a set program of life which involves no
conscious choice of action.
A tiger has to lead a ferocious life, whereas a deer lives a meek
and, mild existence. A tiger cannot choose any other way, nor can the
deer. However, a human being can choose to be more destructive than the
tiger or meeker than the deer.
Instructions
Thus, a human being alone needs instructions for living. Without
these instructions, one falls victims to stress and strain. And that is
exactly what has happened today.
In spite of tremendous advancement in the standards of living, there
is also a sharp deterioration in the quality of life. The development of
the human intellect in today's world is alarmingly low. The mind has a
devastating impact upon the personality if not controlled by a powerful
intellect.
The restless tendency of the mind also creates mental fatigue. People
feel tired after a day's work, not because they lack physical strength,
but because they lack control over their minds.
Children
When we analyse the lives of small children, in spite of their little
strength they remain active throughout the day.
They never seem to get tired. The secret of this stamina is lack of
worries or anxieties, she said. The professionals and executives
throughout the world suffer because of their own minds.
The study and reflection upon Vedanta enable one to develop a strong
intellect It also helps us to gain clarity in life and a complete
control over our mind. A powerful intellect alone ensures mental peace.
