Second ‘Big Match’ on March 27 and 28 in Panadura:
St. Anthony’s Panadura vs Shasthrananda Dehiwala

CRICKET: A ‘big’ match, still in its infancy – the second encounter
(two-day game) between St. Anthony’s Boys College, Panadura and
Shasthrananda College, Dehiwala will be played at the Panadura Public
Grounds on March 27 and 28. The one-day encounter between these two
schools for the Sampath Goonetilleke Challenge Shield will be played on
April 4 at the De Soyza Stadium in Moratuwa.
St. Anthony’s will be led by Nuwan Dhanushka who is a allrounder.
The leading batsman in side are Mohamed Sylmi who has scored over 330
runs and he has done well in bowling too, claiming 26 wickets.
The leading batsman in the side is Dinesh Dimantha who has scored
around 546 runs this season.
Manoj Anuruddha – the wicket-keeper leads Shasthrananda College this
year. Vice-Captain of the side is Lahiru Namal – the coloursman who has
scored the only century for the side.
H.H. Wijesiri is the Master-in-Charge of cricket at St. Anthony’s and
the Coach is Basil Jinendra. Ven. Madugasthalawe Wimalabuddhi Thera is
the Master-in-Charge of cricket and the two coaches are Kapila de Silva
and Suranga Priyadharshana at Shasthrananda College.
