Great achievement of Trinity winning three tournaments in a year -

CRICKET: Trinity College did well to win three cricket tournaments on
offer in a single year to bring honour to the school and Central
Province said Tikiri Kobbekaduwa - the Governor of Central Province at
the felicitation ceremony held at the Governor's Residence in Kandy.
Present at the occasion were the Principal of Trinity College,
Brigadier Udaya Ariyaratne and leading personalities from Kandy District
Mohan Samarakoon, N.U.G. de Silva, Mayor of Kandy Mahen Ratwatte and
others.
Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa said that winning an
All-Island Tournament especially in the game of cricket was highly
praiseworthy.
Besides winning the All-Island Trophy, Trinity has proved their
prowess by winning two other trophies at a high level.
Trinity won the Schools 'A' division league tournament after scoring
ten outright wins, with nine wins coming by an innings. The Trinitians
also won the 'Big Match' by an innings after 26 years.
