Charitha Herath, new Media Secretary

Former Central Environment Authority Chairman Charitha Herath has been appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information.

Prior to becoming Chairman of the Central Environment Authority, Herath was a senior consultant to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information when Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa was Media Minister.

Herath also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) in 2003. Herath, a graduate from the University of Peradeniya, is currently on secondment for national services from his permanent academic position as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya.
