Two killed in train-backhoe accident

Two persons were killed after a train collided with a backhoe loader at an unprotected railway crossing in Gintota, Galle yesterday. The train from Matara to Kandy had collided with the vehicle at around 3.30 last evening, according to the Main Railway Control Room.

The temporary disruption which followed in the coastal railway line was restored immediately.
