for the Designer of the Year 2012 are fast rolling in and once the
closing date is passed, contestants will be called in for the
interviews. Those of you who have sent in your applications, now's the
time for you to storm your think tanks and produce styles that reflect
your individual creativity and artistry. Come alive with your
distinctive ideas which were dormant these past few years and get into
the action fast.
There will be 10 categories of fashion styles and the judges will
cast a critical eye on your sketches which should be on A 4 paper. The
categories for a contestant to make a choice are bridal wear, kiddies
wear, winter wear, saree wear, evening wear, office wear, sports wear,
lingerie and casual wear. The contest is open to females and males, no
age limit. The first three winners of the contest will receive sewing
machines with the compliments of Singer. While the 10 category winners
1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up will also win valuable prizes. The over
all winner section will also have a 1st runner-up and a 2nd runner-up.
Scholarships in Fashion Designing Technology courtesy of Fashion Tec
(Institute of Fashion Technology) will be awarded to the winners. This
will give you the opportunity to further your studies in fashion
creating, fashion illustrations, colour theories, and international high
