Sajith (149) shines for Tamil Union

Sajith Kelumpriya cracked brilliant 149 runs with seven sixes and 11 fours against Moors in their three-day encounter in the SLC Under-23 cricket match played at P Sara Oval yesterday.

By second day's stump, Moors led 20 runs with two wickets in hand after they were forced on to follow on by Tamil Union, who scored 299 in their first innings as Moors were all out for 136 in their first innings.

Tamil Union: First innings 299 in 74.4 overs (Sajith Kelumpriya 149, Ashen Silva 42, Madhuka Liyanapathirana 4/54, Lakshan Rangika 3/49, Chamikara Edirisinghe 2/96).

Moors: First innings 136 in 36.2 overs (Madhushan Ekanayake 4/40, Ashen Silva 3/26, Matheesha Perera 2/18).

Second innings 183/8 in 61 overs (Chamikara Edirisinghe 57 n.o, Lasith Abeyratne 47, Pulina Tharanga 3/18, Ashen Silva 2/37).

BRC need another 327 to win

BRC, chasing 486 to win, need another 327 runs with eight wickets in hand in the last day of their three-day encounter in the SLC Under-23 cricket match played at Bloomfield grounds yesterday.

Bloomfield: First innings 180 in 63.2 overs (Nipun Karunanayake 64, Sachithra Perera 3/33, Dishan Wimukthi 2/42, Vikum Sanjaya 2/42).
