BASKETBALL: St. Bridget's Convent, Colombo 7 emerged champions at the
3rd Tour of the first ever 3x3 Under-18 Street Basketball Championships
worked off recently. St. Bridget's outclassed fancied St. Joseph's Girls
School, Nugegoda comfortably in the final.
On their way to the final, St. Bridget's beat Visakha Vidyalaya, St.
Joseph's Girls School and Gateway International School in the first
round before knocking out Track Masters in the semi-finals.
Sisters Swairie and Swaranga Fernando, along with Shanelle Perera and
Keshani Mariyampillai were in fine form to pilot St. Bridget's to
victory at the tournament organised by the Sri Lanka Basketball
Federation.
