Orient Wealth launches Unit Trust Fund

Orient Wealth Limited launched a Unit Trust Fund and will operate
following a license granted by the Securities Exchange Commission Orient
Wealth's Portfolio Manager, Prasanna Kiridena said the company offers
innovative investment schemes to attract investors.
The three newly floated funds are the Orient Gilt Edged Fund, Orient
Corporate Debt Fund and the Orient Equity Fund. They will primarily
invest in gilt securities, corporate debt securities and listed equities
in the Colombo Stock Exchange. He said the funds will be managed by
Orient Wealth and the investors' money will be in the custody of
Deutsche Bank AG Colombo as the trustee and custodian. Orient Wealth
also plans to attract investors to the Orient Retirement Saving Plan,
Orient Child Education Plan and Orient General Investment Plan, he said.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Orient Wealth, S Jeyavarman said
their intention was to remind and educate people on the importance of
savings for the future. “We encourage long-term investments and our new
products will serve this purpose. The Retirement and Child Education
Plan is crucial today.” He said the Retirement Savings Plan offers
people an opportunity to accumulate wealth step by step.
