Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, J.M.S. Brito commissioned the
state-of-the-art green printing facility at Mawaramandiya in Kelaniya.
The new printing facility is on 3.5 acres of land. It has
architectural designs to make it more environmentally friendly.
Managing Director, Aitken Spence Printing Prasanna Karunathillake
said it was Sri Lanka's first green printing facility with advanced
printing and packaging technology.
The company prints books, corporate reports and other material. He
said the latest printing technology would enable them to offer customers
quality products on par with other printing facilities in the world.
Jayawardena said they had chosen the venue after careful consideration
having withstood pressure from several quarters which attempted to
thwart the development of the printing facility. "I am sure that our
coming here has not only pushed up land prices and other companies too
may also set up businesses here and a new day will dawn on this city.
Our choice of coming here is a blessing in disguise and we are proud
to have a contented and dedicated staff." Printing has a different
dimension like the green areas but there may be other unknown areas that
are in store for us.
