MAS Holdings lauded for exceptional HR practices

Director Human Resource Dinal Peiris and HRD Manager, MAS Intimates Zara Ashraff at the Awards ceremony.

MAS Intimates, the lingerie manufacturing division of MAS Holdings was honoured for its innovative HR practices at Asia's Best Employer Brand (ABEB) Awards 2012.

The Awards hosted by the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress and Stars of the Industry Group and CMO Asia, endorsed by the Asian Confederation of Businesses and Universum Asia, was held recently at Park Royal, Singapore. MAS Intimates won the Award for Best HR Strategy in line with Business and the Award for Excellence in Training.

Held for the third consecutive year, the ABEB Awards honour organisations exhibiting exemplary practices in developing and managing talent. This year's event saw the participation of 20 Asian nations, and a Jury consisting of internationally renowned Senior Leaders in Human Resource Management evaluated all candidates, where the most impressive were then shortlisted. This Award ranks MAS Intimates' HR practices on par with companies such as Unilever Asia, Gulf Bank and Tata Consultancy Services.

Director Human Resource, Dinal Peiris said, "We are continuously innovating 'people-driven' strategies and that has made a real difference in our business, as well as in the lives of our associates. We strive to have a balanced, holistic strategy, which is what has moved MAS Intimates forward across the years."

"Our people strategy is founded on a strong commitment that resonates from all levels of our organisation, creating a deep sense of belonging among our employees", Managing Director of MAS Intimates Dian Gomes said. "When empowered, people are enabled to create better livelihoods for themselves. The distinction between organisational development and community development ebbs, and we all work towards a common goal; a better future. It is certainly rewarding to be honoured for our commitment to uplift and empower our own," he said.
