Amana Bank completes one year

Amana Bank which operates on the principles of Islamic Banking, completed one year of banking operations on August 1.

The Bank introduced a new way forward to the banking industry with its unique concept of banking.

On reaching this milestone Managing Director and CEO, Faizal Salieh said, "We had a successful launch and an eventful 12 months of operations with many key milestones being achieved. I am happy with our progress, though the regulatory ceiling on lending which was imposed on all banks in the beginning of 2012 has stalled our asset growth and affected our profitability." "The Bank has brought a new and refreshing change in the way banking is done in Sri Lanka. The confidence placed by

our growing number of customers will always be our strength. We now have over 60,000 customers, spread across 14 branches. We will soon increase our network," he said.
