NCCSL delegation to Myanmar
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) with the
support of the Myanmar Embassy in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Embassy in
Myanmar will send a business delegation to Myanmar on a tour from
September 8 to 14.
The objective of the proposed tour is to explore business and
investment opportunities in agriculture, industry, gem and jewellery,
tourism, banking and other service sectors in Myanmar.
Delegates will meet members and officials of Myanmar Chambers of
Commerce and Industry in Yangon followed by one-on-one business meetings
in Naypyitaw and Yangon.
The delegates will meet the Minister of Commerce and Industry of
Myanmar, other Government officials in Yangon and Naypyitaw and the Sri
Lanka Ambassador and senior staff of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar.
"With the close ties Sri Lanka maintains with Myanmar and the good
relations we have with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar, we can further
strengthen bilateral business relations through this visit," a spokesman
for the Chamber said.
The delegation will be headed by President of the National Chamber of
Commerce of Sri Lanka Asoka Hettigoda. Private sector business leaders
and senior officials from Government institutions are expected to join
the delegation.
