NCCSL delegation to Myanmar

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) with the support of the Myanmar Embassy in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar will send a business delegation to Myanmar on a tour from September 8 to 14.

The objective of the proposed tour is to explore business and investment opportunities in agriculture, industry, gem and jewellery, tourism, banking and other service sectors in Myanmar.

Delegates will meet members and officials of Myanmar Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Yangon followed by one-on-one business meetings in Naypyitaw and Yangon.

The delegates will meet the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Myanmar, other Government officials in Yangon and Naypyitaw and the Sri Lanka Ambassador and senior staff of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar.

"With the close ties Sri Lanka maintains with Myanmar and the good relations we have with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar, we can further strengthen bilateral business relations through this visit," a spokesman for the Chamber said.

The delegation will be headed by President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka Asoka Hettigoda. Private sector business leaders and senior officials from Government institutions are expected to join the delegation.
