Prices of essentials down
Lanka Sathosa will take steps to reduce prices of many essential
commodities to provide relief to consumers, following a directive from
President Mahindra Rajapaksa.
Prices of sprats, sugar, canned fish, Samba rice, white raw rice,
Nadu rice, red Nadu and lentils will be reduced at all Lak Sathosa
outlets.

Trauma workshop for Security Forces
SingHealth and Delmege - Healthcare Division conducted a workshop on
trauma management for the Secrity Forces recently.
The event was coordinated by Major General Dr. Sanjeeva Munasinghe of
the Army Hospital and Medical Advisor to the Commander of the Army and
Prof. Tay Boon Keng, Chairman Medical Board , International.
The forum was organised by Delmege Forsyth and Co. Ltd, Healthcare
Division.

SLSBC promotes trade
The Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council (SLSBC) will promote
bilateral trade between the two countries, said President SLSBC, Shamil
Mendis.
Mendis, who is also the Chairman and Managing Director, Spear
International (Pvt) Ltd., was elected President of the Council for
2012-2013 at the 15th AGM. He said that the SLSBC held a business forum
to mark the recent visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of
Law of Singapore, K. Shanmugam, who was accompanied by a high profile
business delegation from the Singapore Business Federation with which
the Council entered into an MOU to co-operate in facilitating the growth
of business between the two countries.
Hayleys Wind Power adds 10MW to National Grid
Hayleys Wind Power (Pvt) Ltd. launched commercial operations on
Thursday and is expected to add 10MW to the national grid through its
wind turbine generators.
The move will boost the power requirements of the country through
renewable and sustainable 'green' energy. |
