The Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and
Development Corporation, Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and
the Civil Security Department constructed the “Diyatha Uyana”
Walking Path and 84 exotic flower shops at Diyawanna Lake,
Battaramulla, under the guidance of Gotabaya Rajapaksa,
Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development. Here
Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa commissions
the complex last evening with the participation of Ministers
Susil Premajayantha, A. H. M. Fowzie, Gamini Lokuge, Mayor

The Wilbagedara-Aluthwanguwa road in the
Panduwasnuwara electorate in the Kurunegala district was
selected for restoration at a cost of Rs. two million rupees
under the national program of “One Work to One Village”. The
ceremony was presided over by Indika Bandaranayake, Deputy
Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government who is
also the Chief SLFP Organiser for Panduwasnuwara. Here the

The Quality Control Unit (QCU) to protect
the hygiene and freshness of fish, set up at the Peliyagoda
Fish Market by the National Aquatic Resources Development
Agency (NARA), was opened by Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
Development Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne recently. QCU
Chief Lecturer K.W. Sujiwa explains the process to the
Minister while NARA Chairman Dr. S.G. Samarasundere,
Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mahil Senaratne and Ministry

Dissanayaka opened the Inga-Lisa Vocational Training Centre
for Youth, at Guruthalawa, Welimada recently. The centre,
named after Mrs. Inga-Lisa, a Swede national, who turned 83
on that day, had settled down at Guruthalawa and during the
past 50 years had helped poor peasants, needy students,
patients and the differently abled in the Uva Province.
