MBSL seminar on business improvement
The Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka PLC (MBSL) will hold a seminar on
'Three perspectives of managing business' at the Cinnamon Lakeside on
Tuesday, November 6 from 4.00-6.30 pm. "Restructuring is a corporate
term used to include re-organising the legal, ownership, operational or
other strategies/processes of the organisation for the purpose of
profitability or to suit the present requirements.
It is a time consuming tedious task which should be properly assessed
and implemented, since a lapse in the process could lead to a long term
impact on the company", a spokesman said.
Management Consultant and Trainer, Vice Chairman, Employers'
Federation of Ceylon and Senior Deputy President, National Chamber of
Commerce of Sri Lanka, Sunil G Wijesinha will speak on this topic.
"Developing a suitable capital product will be the success element of
an institution.
This could range from a basic share to a convertible debt issue or
even a complex hybrid structure" he said. Deputy General Manager,
Corporate Advisory and Capital Markets, Merchant Bank, A M A Cader, will
also speak on this topic.
Manager, Portfolio and investment, Merchant Bank, Hemendra
Wijekoon.Managing investment will speak on the broad concept based on
the principles of risk and returns. Investments vary from equity
investments to debt-related investments. Switching one's investments
between equity and debt or even with financial instruments could provide
extraordinary returns compared to general returns of the market.
