Singer Fiesta
Singer Sri Lanka will launch the Singer Lifestyle Fiesta and Trade
Exhibition 2012 at the BMICH from November 16-18.
A spokesman for Singer said, "The event is to be held for the second
time following the success of last year's exhibition which attracted
over 40,000 visitors.
This family event provides an opportunity for consumers to purchase
all brands and products of Singer under one roof."
"The trade event will showcase the latest technology while giving the
best deals to consumers. Over 30 brands, most of them among the premium
consumer durable brands in the world will be displayed at this venue,"
he said.
Seminar on Budget
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual seminar on the
Budget on Monday, November 12 from 8.30 am-12.30 pm in the ground floor
auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 2.
Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, Ministry of Finance, S. R.
Attygalle will speak on 'Policy Direction and Overview of the Budget
2013', while Senior Deputy Commissioner General of the Inland Revenue
Department, H. B. A. Seneviratne will speak on 'Taxation Proposals of
Budget 2013'.
WTM opens tomorrow
The World Travel Market (WTM) will be held from tomorrow till
November 8 in London.
This year the Sri Lankan contingent would be led by the Deputy
Minister of Economic Affairs, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardane, Sri Lanka
Tourism Development Authority, Chairman, Bhashwara Gunaratne, Chairman
SriLankan Airlines, Nishantha Wickramasinghe and top decision-makers of
the private sector too will attend the event.
