Emirates wins Global Commerce Excellence Award

Emirates won the 'Global Commerce Excellence Award' . The award, is
endorsed by the Central Bank and is presented by the Shippers' Academy
Colombo in partnership with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, the Board of
Investment of Sri Lanka and Airport Aviation Services Sri Lanka.
It recognises overseas partners who supported the national economy
and economic activity during the three decades of terrorism.
"Emirates launched flights to Colombo in April 1986 and has supported
Sri Lanka with a vital link to the airline's ever expanding global
network for more than 25 years, with passenger and cargo services," said
Emirates Area Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Chandana de Silva.
"Today, we operate 28 flights a week to Colombo, connecting Sri Lanka
with 127 destinations in 73 countries, and we are happy to receive this
award as an expression of appreciation," he said.
