Gateway wins U17 Badminton Championship
Gateway College, Colombo won the under 17 boys badminton championship
by beating Alethea International School 3/1 in the final. Gateway beat
Stafford International School 3/0 in the first round, Lyceum
International School, Wattala 3/1 in the quarter-final and Leeds
International School 3/0 in the semi-final.
The under 17 and 13 Inter International School tournament played for
the R.I.T Alles Challenge Trophy was organised by Gateway College and
was played at the Gateway College Sports Complex from 10th to 14th
December 2012. Over 25 teams from 11 schools participated in the
tournament.
Under 17 Girls and Under 13 Boys Championships were won by Royal
Institute, Colombo. Under 13 Girls Champions were Lyceum International
School Nugegoda. Aaron de Vesser of Alethea International School,
Chatturya Rodrigo of Royal Institute, Harith Bawantaha of Royal
Institute and Manuki Chandrasekara of Lyceum International School,
Wattala were named the Best Players in the Under 17 Boys, Under 17
Girls, Under 13 Boys and Under 13 Girls categories.
