Rukshan Perera Live in Concert III will be another occasion for his
fans to enjoy his skill as a guitarist and vocalist. At the concert
today at the Bishop's College Auditorium, Rukshan will share the stage
with other well-known music personalities who will be guest performers
to support the cause of the concert.
The performers are the Revelations, De Lanerolle Brothers, Voice
Print, Rajitha Rupasinghe, Noeline Honter, Choro Calibre, Sarith and
Surith. The music for the singers will be by one of Sri Lanka's leading
pianists Hansha Makalanda and his band Khrome.
The concert is in aid of Unity Trust Mission, an organisation that
has always been committed to the welfare of children and ensuring
reconciliation among themselves. Rukshan, so the story goes, has been
performing since the age of five and his love for music has never faded
since then. He has had his moments singing with his family, singing with
bands playing English music as well as Sinhala music before he left for
the States.
Since his return we understand this is his third concert and he has
been performing for the benefit of charity. His first concert was in
January 2011 which was in aid of Samutthana while his second concert in
August 2011 was to collect funds to build a paediatric cancer ward in
Jaffna.
A creative multi-instrumentalist Rukshan will also be featured on
piano, his favourite harmonica and will whistle his way through any
tune! He has to be heard to believe.
