S’pore to help develop technical, vocational education expertise

Singapore will work with Sri Lanka to help the island develop
technical and vocational education expertise in hospitality, infocomm
and construction.This will be driven by Singapore’s Temasek Foundation
and Republic Polytechnic, along with the Vocational Training Authority
of Sri Lanka.
They will develop training capabilities in the three key sectors
which have been identified as national priorities for development.One
key initiative is a two-year program for 60 vocational lead trainers.
They will learn and apply Republic Polytechnic’s problem-based learning
pedagogy and then train another 120 trainers.Temasek Foundation has
committed a grant of about S$433,000 towards this program.
