Over 3,000 tanks in NCP to be developed

The North Central Provincial (NCP) Council plans to develop 3,200 tanks in the province with Army assistance, according to NCP Chief Minister S.M. Ranjith. This follows a request extended by the NCP Chief Minister to President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Machinery belonging to the North Central Provincial Council will be used in the development works, he said.

The assistance of the Army is to be obtained to get the job perfectly done, Ranjith noted.Farmers and agrarian societies in the province had brought this need to the attention of the Chief Minister.
