Koenig Solutions Flash Mob dance for a noble cause

Koenig Solutions, a leading IT offshore training provider, organised a flash mob dance at Moments Mall in New Delhi recently. The theme was "Respect and Protect Women". The December 16th gang rape in Delhi paralyzed and rebooted the conscience of the entire nation. It was a brutal reminder that despite 65 years of independence, Indian women are still not safe.

The Flash Mob was organized by the Corporate Social Responsibility team of Koenig - Koenig Koshish. The perfectly synchronized dance performance left the audience spellbound and the environment electric with enthusiasm.

CEO of Koenig Solutions, Rohit Aggarwal, said; "Our objective is to make Delhi and India safe for women. We realize that the problem is huge. It requires better laws, better policing and also a change in social mindset. The society has to learn to respect women. Music is an effective way to convey a social message and therefore we decided to organize a flash mob on this subject."

"I was reading today that 42% of women workers in Germany report being sexually harassed in the workplace. The problem is huge and global. It cannot be solved by one organization like Koenig. Just as we cannot remove illiteracy from the country just by ourselves we cannot make India safe for women just by ourselves. But we must do our bit. And we hope that every Indian we will do his and her bit. And if that happens, India will be safe," Aggarwal added.

The dance performance was intended to sensitize society about respect for women and to motivate society members to keep up the fight for better laws and policing. The flash mob was Koenig's method to attract attention peacefully to the need for a positive change in society.

"The first time I learnt about Flashmob was in 2011 when I saw the Mumbai CST Station Flash Dance. I thought it is an effective method to convey a social message. In July 2012 we decided to do a Flash dance on the theme of national unity to coincide with 26th Jan. In fact, pre-Dec. 16th, our planning for Flashmob was on a purely nationalistic theme. The unfortunate incident of Dec. 16th shocked the entire nation and we thought that the need of the hour is protection for women. We decided to focus on this. Security is more important than economic prosperity,: the CEO said.
